North Brookfield Savings Bank has named Marco Bernasconi, an executive at Connecticut financial technology company COCC, as its next president and CEO, the bank announced on Friday.
Bernasconi worked at COCC for 27 years, most recently as senior vice president, client service officer and chief service officer. He will replace outgoing President and CEO Donna Boulanger, who is transitioning to a trustee and corporator role after joining the bank’s staff 13 years ago.
Bernasconi’s appointment as president will become official April 5.
“I am honored the board and Donna have placed their confidence in me to lead North Brookfield Savings Bank into the future and to continue serving its customers and the community,” Bernasconi said in a statement.
In announcing Bernasconi’s appointment, Boulanger highlighted his fintech and digital banking experience.
“I am confident that this change will be a positive one for the bank, the staff, and the community as a whole,” Boulanger said in a statement. “We must continue to look forward and find ways to evolve and innovate so that we may remain independent and true to our mission and core values.”
