New England Unemployment Falls

New England's unemployment rate fell three-tenths of a percentage point to 7.3 percent from October to November, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

All of the region's states except Rhode Island posted jobless rates significantly below the national average of 8.6 percent. Massachusetts' rate was 7 percent.

Over the year, the Bay State's unemployment rate has fallen 1.3 percentage points. It was the only New England state, and one of 14 in the country, to report a statistically significant unemployment decrease during that period.
