National CPI Remains Unchanged

The national Consumer Price Index (CPI) did not change in February after rising 0.2 percent in January, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.

The statistic, which measures the average price of goods and services, is up 2.1 percent from a year earlier.

In the Northeast region, the CPI is up 2.5 percent from a year earlier.

Nationwide, energy prices declined slightly in February compared to January, although the prices are up more than 14 percent from last year.

There were also increases in medical care and used cars and trucks prices.
