Natick-based technology storage provider Nasuni has secured a U.S. patent that covers its core technology, the ability to create a versioned file system from the object-based storage infrastructure of public cloud storage providers, the company said today.
The technology combines the performance and consistency of a traditional file system with the scale and stability of the object storage systems used by all leading public cloud providers, the company said in a statement. Customers benefit by eliminating the need for separate backup and archiving streams by relying on what it called an “infinite snapshot” stream, Nasuni said.
The technology is called UniFS.
