Nasuni, a cloud computing firm expanding its Marlborough office as part of its growing operations, has received a patent for a new secure global file-sharing technology.
The patent Nasuni announced Tuesday is the company's 10th related to its cloud software services, with others pending.
The newest patent is for Nasuni's Global File Lock technology, which allows multiple users to work on large files with what the company says is fast transmission rates and tight security.
Nasuni, which got its start in Natick and is now based in Boston, said in May it has outgrown its headquarters. It opened a new office at 313 Boston Post Road West in Marlborough in the spring, and said it plans to have 48 people at that site by the end of the year. It also has offices in Durham, N.C., and outside London.
The company said in the spring it expects to have roughly 300 employees by the end of the year, with roughly 150 at its Boston headquarters. Nasuni said its employee headcount has grown by 85% in the past two years, with another 42% growth expected this year.
