Judith M. Robinson has been named director of institutional assessment at Anna Maria College in Paxton. She previously served as assistant dean for student development at Boston College. She has a doctorate in developmental psychology from Boston College; a master’s in counseling psychology from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s in education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She’s a resident of Groton.
Southbridge Credit Union has hired David Ricci to lead its Members Financial Service program. Ricci has 18 years of experience in investment and retirement, including time at Banc One, ING, Rydex Global Advisors and Mercantile Bancshares. In his new position, he will work with current and new members of the credit union to prepare customized retirement savings plans.
Bay State Savings Bank has promoted Thomas F. Boland Jr. to vice president of commercial lending at the bank’s Worcester headquarters. Boland has worked in the financial and banking industry for 30 years, and joined Bay State last year as assistant vice president. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Worcester State University and an associate’s degree in accounting from the New England School of Accounting in Worcester.
Toronto, Canada-based TD Bank announced several local personnel changes. Diane M. Seely was promoted to vice president in cash management at the bank’s Framingham branch. Seely has worked in banking for 33 years. Her most recent position was assistant vice president. Christopher J. Currie was named as a store manager, also at the Framingham location. Before joining TD Bank, Currie was a branch manager at Citizens Bank in Framingham for five years. In his new position, he handles business development, lending and personnel management at the bank branch. Anthony J. Pasquale was named a senior loan officer for commercial lending in Worcester. Pasquale has worked in banking for 15 years and at TD Bank since 2001. In his new job, he will work with middle market companies and institutions around Worcester County and beyond.
Workers’ Credit Union of Fitchburg has hired three new managers: David R. Thibodeau, Jon W. Krumdick and Darryl Richardson. Thibodeau is the credit union’s new vice president of information technology. He previously worked for the Waltham-based IT company NWN Corp. as a customer delivery manager. Krumdick is the new assistant vice president of the credit union’s member information center. He previously worked as a branch manager for Marlborough-based Digital Federal Credit Union. Richardson was named assistant branch manager for the credit union’s Fitchburg office. He previously served as a branch manager for Citizens Bank in Boston and, before that, worked for U.S. Trust Co. in Boston.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute has hired Selçuk I. Güçeri as its first dean of engineering. Güçeri spent the past 10 years in the same position at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has also authored more than 100 publications on manufacturing, materials mechanics and software development. He will join WPI in early 2011. Güçeri, who is originally from Turkey, has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He completed a Ph.D. as a NATO fellow at the North Carolina State University Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
Expense Management Solutions Inc. of Southborough has hired Bruce Shick as director of its consulting practice. Shick has worked in corporate real estate for more than 30 years, most recently at Sun Microsystems and, before that at Fidelity Investments and Wang Laboratories. He has also served as president of corporate real estate association CoreNet New England.
The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester has named Joseph C. Laning as head of the human stem cell bank and registry. The cell bank is being created with and funded by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center. It is intended to provide researchers with lines of human embryonic stem cell lines for research and therapeutic uses. Laning previously served as senior director of cell and analytical biology at ViaCell Inc. of Boston, which researches adult stem cell technology to treat cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Mayflower Advisors LLC has hired financial advisors John Wilcox and John Longo, and administrative manager Pamela Shea. The three employees will work at the investment planning firm’s new Westborough location, serving clients in MetroWest. Mayflower works primarily on retirement plans for small- and mid-sized businesses and individual private wealth management.
Barre Savings Bank has hired Michael S. Ostrowski as vice president and senior loan officer. Ostrowski previously worked for Freedom Credit Union in Springfield as vice president and chief lending officer. He has worked in the financial services field for more than 28 years, including time at United Co-operative Bank and Ludlow Savings Bank.
