Movers and Shakers

KEVIN HUNT has been named general manager for a VIA, a new Italian restaurant scheduled to open in early April. Hunt began working for The Sole Proprietor in 1990 and most recently served as a manager at The Sole and is part of the senior management team for The Sole and One Eleven Chop House, both of which are also owned by the Robb and Madeleine Ahlquist, who also own VIA.

The Central Massachusetts Independent Physician Association (CMIPA) has hired LUCILLE TAYLOR as director of clinical integration and quality. Taylor has more than 20 years of experience and will assist CMIPA members in achieving their health care quality goals. Before joining CMIPA, Taylor worked at the 66th Medical Group Clinic at Hanscom Air Force Base as director of population health. The CMIPA has also hired SIMA VYAS as manager of program development. Vyas will develop and execute operational programs for CMIPA and assist in the implementation of quality initiatives. Before joining CMIPA, she worked with Tufts Health Plan as contract manager, contract specialist, and mental health service coordinator.

Richard Lamoureux, founder of Lamoureux Pagano Associates Architects, has retired. His business partner, Michael Pagano, will assume the presidency of the firm.

Clinton Savings Bank has promoted MAJLINDA HAXHIAJ to assistant vice president. She has transferred from the West Boylston branch office where she was a manager to manager of the bank's main office at 200 Church Street in Clinton.

KIM CORWIN has been appointed plan counselor for Westland Services Corp., which beautifies and maintains family cemetery plots throughout the U.S and Canada. Corwin was previously senior quality manager for Accenture in Wellesley.

Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) has hired ANNE DOYLE to senior vice president and chief compliance officer. She comes to FCHP from Tufts Health Plan, where she held the position of director of public policy, government affairs and compliance.

ALLEN KRAUSE has been appointed chief financial officer at Anna Maria College. Most recently, he served as CFO of the Eastern Region of Caritas Christi Health Care in Boston.

 

Dr. FAREN WILLIAMS has been named chief of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester. Williams completed an internship in internal medicine at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. Prior to joining Fairlawn's medical staff, she served as the physical medicine and rehabilitation director at the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Medical Center

MARK CARLSON was elected regional vice president for the Western Region of the Massachusetts Association of Personnel Services for 2007. Carlson has more than 7 years experience in the human talent management business. DELORES GEORGE was elected secretary. She is a member of the National Association of Personnel Services and is a past president of the Business & Professional Women USA.

DOUGLAS FISH has been promoted to director of student financial services at American International College in Springfield. Prior to his promotion, Fish served as director of financial aid at AIC.

BILL TEUBER, vice chairman of EMC Corp., will expand his responsibilities to include leadership of the company's customer operations, its worldwide sales and distribution organization. The company has also promoted BILL SCANNELL to executive vice president of global sales programs in addition to heading up sales for the Americas. Scannell will report to Teuber. Additionally, senior vice presidents Mike DeCesare and Balaji Yelamanchili have been named co-general managers for EMC's content management and archive business.

The Worcester Executives Association has elected the following officers for 2007: Joseph Moro, loan officer, Bay State Savings Bank of Worcester, president; Sally Jablonski, president, Herbert Berg Florist, vice president; Denise Pierce, Denise Pierce Interiors, secretary; and Frederick Mottle, chairman, Mottle, McGrath, Braney and Flynn, treasurer.
