The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. of Worcester recently appointed GERALD T. MERRITT as president of its professional liability business. Merritt previously worked for CNA Global Specialty Lines, most recently as vice president of the accountants and lawyers professional liability business. Before CNA, he was a claims counsel at the Continental Insurance Co., and, before that, a defense attorney in New York City. In his new position, Merritt leads the insurer’s business covering professionals including architects, engineers and lawyers against professional liability claims.

ERIC S. WILHELMSEN was named a professional engineer at Meridian Associates’ Westborough office. Wilhelmsen is a 16-year veteran of the field. He most recently worked at Heritage Design Group of Whitins-ville. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is a resident of Holden.

Framingham-based technology market data firm International Data Corp. has promoted KEVIN CAPALBO to assistant vice president of its customer solutions practice. Capalbo has held sales jobs with IDC since 2000 and is part of the company’s events and charity committee. He has a bachelor’s degree from Nichols College in Dudley. He lives in Shrewsbury.

Gov. Deval Patrick has appointed ROSALIE P. LAWLESS, the director of human resources at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester, to the Qunisigamond Community College Board of Trustees. Lawless is an alumna of the Worcester community college and has a bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also has an advanced certificate in business studies from Anna Maria College in Paxton. Lawless also serves on the board of advisors for Nichols College in Dudley and is the chairperson of the Central Massachusetts Regional Employment Board. She lives in Sutton.

MONICA E. BACZKO has joined ERA Key Realty Services Worcester office. Baczko previously worked for Consolidated Graphics in East Longmeadow. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She lives in Rochdale.

Third-party electrical supplier Glacial Energy Inc. has hired TOM GRAVEL as business development manager for Central and Western Massachusetts. Gravel has worked in sales and marketing for 18 years. In his new position he will oversee sales and marketing for his region. Glacial does business in 16 states

Citizens Bank has hired CHERYL MILLER as assistant vice president and business banking officer for the Worcester area. In her new role, she will help local businesses with account management and borrowing. Miller previously worked as a financial advisor for Strategic Financial Partners. Before that, she worked at Bank of America as an assistant vice president in the wealth management division. Miller has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.

Westborough-based Conservation Services Group has hired MICHAEL J. DIETER as executive vice president of software and technology. The newly created position gives Dieter responsibility for CSG’s information technology division, including the development of a new IT systems vision for the company. Dieter has worked in technology and management for more than 20 years. His résumé includes time spent as chief technology officer of supply chain company HomeDirect USA. He has also held CTO positions at Clicklogistics in Billerica and Nationstreet in Milford, as well as a senior vice president of IT post at Putnam Investments in Boston. Dieter has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

TD Bank has named KEVIN DREW a cash management sales officer at its Worcester office. Drew works with new and existing bank clients in the Central Massachusetts health-care and nonprofit sectors. Drew has worked in banking for 15 years, including a position in cash management sales at Sovereign Bank in Boston. Drew has a bachelor’s degree from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta. He lives in Milton.

LISA WELCOME was named vice president of operations/compliance at Worcester-based Training Resources of America Inc. Welcome was previously a statewide program director for TRA. She has a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Assumption College in Worcester and is a resident of Sturbridge.

O’Brien Commercial Properties Inc. of Marlborough has hired DAVID CURLEY as an associate. Curley is a recent graduate of Bates College with internship experience at the Burlington, Vt.-based commercial real estate firm Donahue and Associates and at Avidia Bank. Curley will work in the MetroWest and Leominster areas.

Consigli Construction Co. of Milford has hired JOHN LEHANE as a project manager. Lehane has more than 10 years of experience in construction management and estimating in both the public and private sectors. Lehane is currently managing the Claire T. Carney Library addition and renovations at UMass Dartmouth. He has previously handled projects at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and a FBI crime laboratory. Lehane has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He lives in Shrewsbury.

The Worcester-based VNA Care Network & Hospice has elected LINDA F. HADDAD as chair of the VNA Care Hospice board of directors. The nonprofit offers support for the terminally ill and their families either at home or at locations in Cambridge, Needham and Worcester. Haddad lives in Worcester.

Leominster’s Fidelity Bank has promoted EDWARD F. MANZI JR. to chairman of the board of directors and CEO. Manzi, previously Fidelity’s president and CEO, will continue to manage the bank’s day-to-day operations while also leading the board and executive management team in developing long-term business strategies. The bank said the new corporate structure will help it pursue an “aggressive growth plan.”

Fitchburg-based Rollstone Bank & Trust has promoted NICHOLE CORROTO and ADELITA NEGRON to branch managers. Corroto now heads the bank’s Parkhill office in Fitchburg. She has been with the bank for more than five years, most recently as an assistant manager. Corroto has a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Fitchburg State College. Negron was named manager of the bank’s main office in Fitchburg. She has been with the bank since 2005 and most recently served as an assistant manager. She is pursuing a degree at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner.
