Milford Regional Medical Center said Thursday it is reopening all medical services and expanding visitor policies now with the hospital is down to about a dozen coronavirus patients.
The hospital is still banning visitors to coronavirus patients and is allowing just one visitor per day for non-coronavirus patients.
But other policies are changing, including allowing a birthing partner, parents and guardians of underage patients, attorneys and companions for those with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. They will no longer count as a patient’s visitor.
Hospital policies are still focused on caution.
All employees are screened daily for symptoms, for example, and anyone accompanying a patient is discouraged from staying in a waiting room. The cafeteria seating area is restricted to staff only, and all visitors are also screened upon entering the hospital and are required to wear a face mask and visitor tag that expires in 24 hours.
Milford Regional’s coronavirus patients are being treated in a dedicated area separated from others.
