The Worcester Line of the MBTA Commuter Rail will temporarily reduce its weekday train schedule starting May 2.
The schedule change will allow for construction on the Worcester Station Improvement Project at Union Station, the Natick Center high-level platform project, and Back Bay Station track work, and installation of new rail ties between Framingham and Worcester, according to a Monday press release from the MBTA.
Under the temporary adjustments, inbound trains 512, 516, and 522 and outbound trains 507, 511, and 517 will be eliminated. There will be time adjustments to inbound trains 510, 514, 518, 520, 532, 534, and 536 and outbound trains 501, 503, 505, 509, 513, 515, 519, 521, 523, 525, 527, 529, 531, 533, 535, and 537.
Weekend inbound services will be unchanged, and weekend outbound services will have a five-minute time adjustment for all Saturday and Sunday trains.
The new schedule will last from May 2 through October. Weekday peak service in the morning and evening will remain unchanged.
