The Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership has partnered with CONNEX Marketplace to provide Massachusetts manufactures an online platform for them to connect with suppliers and buyers.
The new platform will be called CONNEX Massachusetts and will go live on April 14. Massachusetts manufacturers and suppliers can use the new program for free, according to the Monday announcement from MassMEP.
CONNEX Massachusetts will combine Massachusetts manufacturer and supplier data into a single database, which will include supply chain visualizations as well as workforce and research and development efforts in the area. MassMEP hopes this new tool will allow everyone involved in the supply chain to connect, post, and respond to needs as well as search for suppliers and discover new business.
"Addressing supply chain issues is a top priority for manufacturers, from reduced access to raw materials to equipment availability to labor shortages," said Kathie Mahoney, CEO and president of MassMEP, said in a press release on Monday. "CONNEX Massachusetts allows us to build a strong, Massachusetts-centric manufacturing network that will help local organizations easily identify alternate suppliers and improve supply chain diversity, resiliency, and risk."
Based in Auburn, MassMEP is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology MEP National Network, which is a resource for those interested in creating a community of manufacturing companies. CONNEX Marketplace is a Utah-based tech platform providing similar services across the nation, including for other state manufacturing extension partnerships.
