Mass. Realtor Confidence Keeps Rising

Real estate market confidence among the state's Realtors reached another all-time high in February, although most believed last month's snowy weather had a negative impact on transactions.

The Massachusetts Association of Realtors' (MAR) market confidence index rose 82 percent over February 2012, the MAR said in a statement. That marked the 19th straight month of year-over-year increases in the index. The measure of 71.82 on a 100-point scale increased 11 percent from January.
Meanwhile, the MAR's price confidence gauge was 69.55 in February, up 27 percent from February 2012, and the 13th straight month of year-over-year increases.

"The high level of confidence that Realtors continue to possess about the current real estate market conditions is encouraging as we enter the spring market," said MAR President Kimberly Allard-Moccia. "However, it will be interesting to see if the price confidence index moves back past the market confidence index next month, or if this is a start of a new dynamic."
