Marlborough firm launches IT software looking to improve video conference calls

Wyebot, a Marlborough-based computer services firm, has launched a new software product which seeks to improve the connection reliability of video conferencing applications.

DEX Agent is a new Wyebot product that can be loaded onto Intel-based devices, allowing IT workers to monitor WiFi user experience and detect issues with connectivity that can cause freezing and other video or audio-related problems. The software allows IT professionals to test for connection issues in real time and troubleshoot devices remotely.

“Despite these applications continuing to be the norm for daily business communications, many are still experiencing the frustrations of calls dropping or video lagging, and not knowing if it’s a software or network issue,” Roger Sands, CEO and co-founder of Wyebot, said in a Tuesday press release announcing the product launch. “Our DEX Agent software solution allows IT teams to monitor and resolve these issues quickly so that the next virtual sales or customer meeting goes without a hitch.”

DEX Agent is integrated with the Intel Connectivity Analytics Program, a technology solution that allows wireless devices to share device performance data with network administrators.

The software is supported on Microsoft Windows in its initial release, with Wyebot planning to make it available for other operating systems in the future.
