An entity registered to the owners of Boston cannabis firm Sugar Grove purchased a facility in Templeton for $1.3 million.
Sugar Grove signed a host community agreement with the Town of Templeton in February 2021 to open a facility for the cultivation and manufacturing of adult-use marijuana and marijuana products. The agreement does not include sales directly to consumers.
As part of the agreement the company agreed to a Community Impact Fee equal to 1.5% of gross sales from the facility to be paid quarterly.
The seller of the 0 & 642 Patriots Road property in Templeton was New England Agriculture Technologies of Milford, who permitted and developed the property for cannabis production.
New England Agriculture Technologies purchased the property for $600,000 on Tuesday, and then sold it to the Sugar Grove entity on the same day, according to the Worcester Registry of Deeds.
The property was last assessed by the Town of Templeton at $688,300.
Sugar Grove was founded by Samuel Bacon and Hunter Sherman. The company had proposed to move into a site in Ashburnham in 2020 but opted against that location.
