The owners of the Twisted Fork Bistro in Leicester closed that restaurant and now opened a new one, 185 Bistro on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester.
Erion and Esmeralda Callo opened the new restaurant on Monday, after months of preparations at the former location of Mac’s Diner at 185 Shrewsbury St. They purchased the location in May 2022.
Erion Callo, who is from Albania originally, told WBJ the Twisted Fork in Leicester is closed today and he intends to sell the business. The couple bought the Twisted Fork in 2018.
Over the past year, the whole Callo family could be seen renovating the Worcester restaurant after their day was over at the Twisted Fork. The family makes their own bulkies, Italian bread, corned beef hash, hollandaise sauce, and pastries, among many other items on the menu.
As of Monday, the restaurant is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and serves breakfast and lunch. Callo said he may expand into dinner in the future, but he is focused on finding staff now. He said it is difficult to find restaurant workers right now.
