A popular Leicester breakfast restaurant has been sold to an Armenian couple with a history of baking.
Uncle Jay’s Twisted Fork at 509 Stafford St. in the Cherry Valley area of Leicester is now the Twisted Fork Bistro after chef Jay Powell sold it, according to the restaurant’s Facebook posts and Worcester real estate brokers Kelleher & Sadowsky.
Powell in a Facebook post on May 30 said the new owners, Erion and Alda Callo, will continue to operate the restaurant as is and will make minimal menu changes.
Powell said he plans to open a new restaurant -- The Twisted Cochon BBQ and Grill -- in Auburn later this year.
A purchase price was not disclosed, and Worcester County Registry of Deeds records do not reflect a sale of the location.
