Bulbs.com, the Worcester-based online light bulb retailer, says it’s cut the prices on LED bulbs.
LED, or light-emitting diode, bulbs are much more efficient and long-lasting, but also much more expensive than traditional incandescent bulbs, or even the florescent replacements now commonly in use.
The company said the LED bulbs are growing in popularity, but many consumers have questioned their quality as they’ve hit the market in recent years. It said it sells bulbs from companies that have demonstrated their ability to make a good product.
The bulbs still require a significant investment. A single bulb can cost $30 or more.
