Q. How are you settling in at your new office?

A. Very well. Since my family is still in California, I have been working long hours to learn the system and come up to speed quickly.

Q. What's the biggest surprise you've had in starting the job?
A. The weather! It doesn't rain in southern California and it's still cold here.

Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?

A. My biggest challenge will be to come up to speed quickly and start contributing to the great science and technology already present at Qteros.

Q. How different is this job from your previous position?

A. My previous company has been in existence for almost 20 years with a lot of infrastructure. Qteros is young and we're just building the infrastructure and the organization. It's a great opportunity to help build the company essentially from the ground up.

Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
A. In high school I wanted to be a marine biologist. Though that's not what I'm doing, I am involved in science and technology which I find very fulfilling and exciting.

Q. Where's the best place to get lunch near your new location?

A. There is a really nice cafeteria in the building, thus far it's the only place I've eaten lunch. It's very convenient and has good food. It's nice that we don't have to leave the site for lunch.

Q. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
A. I hope to still be in the biofuels business contributing to the commercialization of alternative fuels technologies.
