Initial Unemployment Claims Rise

Initial unemployment claims throughout the U.S. rose 2.8 percent to 472,000 in seasonally adjusted terms over the week ended June 26, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

The 4-week moving average was 466,500, its highest level since March. That represents a rise of 3,250 from the previous week.

In unadjusted terms, the number of initial claims rose by 14,867 to 438,305.
