The next time you tweet, you may want to think twice, according to a recent survey by the staffing firm Robert Half International.
Robert Half reports that 76 percent of HR managers polled said that technology etiquette breaches can affect a person's career prospects.
The staffing firm has developed a new guide to help people avoid these 21st century pitfalls called, "Business Etiquette: The New Rules in a Digital Age." Robert Half also identified five "technology etiquette breachers." They are listed below:
1. The Venter. This person uses all opportunities to complain about work, including Facebook, Twitter and e-mails.
2. The Noise Polluter. This person doesn't understand what a one-foot voice is. He or she is always on the phone and always lets you know about it.
3. The Cryptic Communicator. This person relies on text-speak to communicate. As a result, his or her messages are usually lost in translation.
4. The Pop-Up Artist. This person is a chatting fanatic, sending you instant messages throughout the day.
5. The Conference Call Con. This person is always on the call, but rarely paying attention.
