Hologic to sponsor Mary J. Blige’s latest concert tour

When Mary J. Blige embarks on the first leg of her Good Morning Gorgeous tour in September, she’ll be doing so with the sponsorship of Marlborough-based Hologic, Inc. 

The women’s health medical technology company said it was partnering with Blige, a grammy-award winning hip-hop soul artist, in order to help raise awareness for women’s health and for women to get screenings for breast and cervical cancer, according to a Wednesday press release from Hologic.

"As a global leader in women's health, we're committed to emphasizing the lifesaving importance of preventive screenings and the annual Well Woman exam, and Mary's voice is a powerful way to reach millions of women," Hologic President & CEO Stephen MacMillan said. 

It’s not the first time Blige and Hologic have teamed up together. Earlier in the year, Blige was featured in a Hologic commercial that first aired on Super Bowl Sunday. Blige has appeared on a Hologic-sponsored panel for Black Women’s Health Imperative, discussing how Black women tend to have higher rates of breast and cervical cancer.

Blige’s Hologic-sponsored tour will begin on Sept. 17 in Greensboro, N.C. and end on Oct. 29 in Atlantic City, N. J.
