Marlborough medical device manufacturer Hologic has placed its 1,000th Panther Molecular Diagnostics System in the United States.
The Panther molecular diagnostics system is a fully automated, sample-to-result platform for testing with adaptable workflow options and a recently introduced open source system allowing for more customization.Â
A Panther system was used in March by a German research team to create a molecular analysis to possibly detect the novel coronavirus.
This year represents the 10-year anniversary of the Panther system, launched in Europe in 2010 and in the U.S. in 2012.
