Hologic has placed its 1,000th Panther Molecular Diagnostics System in the United States.
Marlborough medical device manufacturer Hologic has placed its 1,000th Panther Molecular Diagnostics System in the United States.
The Panther molecular diagnostics system is a fully automated, sample-to-result platform for testing with adaptable workflow options and a recently introduced open source system allowing for more customization.
A Panther system was used in March by a German research team to create a molecular analysis to possibly detect the novel coronavirus.
This year represents the 10-year anniversary of the Panther system, launched in Europe in 2010 and in the U.S. in 2012.
