A 28-acre plot of land in Grafton containing a solar farm has been sold to a corporation linked to a company describing itself as the largest owner and operator of on-site commercial solar operations in the country.

The parcel, located at 215 Providence Road, was sold to Grafton Solar Land LLC for $315,000 in a transaction finalized on Monday, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records. Grafton Solar Land is managed by Lars Norell, the co-CEO and co-founder of Altus Power, a publicly-traded clean energy company based in Stamford, Connecticut, specializing in commercial and community solar projects.

The property was sold by Transform Property Group of Sutton, a corporation managed by Jodi Healey, founder of a Sutton-based real estate company named It’s My Real Estate. The parcel was given a $1.4-million tax assessment value in fiscal 2022, according to Town of Grafton property records.

Altus Power operates solar projects across the country, with a particular concentration on the Northeast. The company has more than 40 installations in Massachusetts, including a 1,730-kilowatt project at Bose’s Framingham facility and a 1,673-kilowatt installation at Shoppers World in Framingham. The company opened a 10-megawatt solar array and 15-megawatt battery storage system in Holliston in July.

Altus saw $45.1 million in revenue in the third quarter of fiscal 2023, according to filings with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, and has a market capitalization of just over $1 billion.

The company did not respond to a request for comment from WBJ.
