New Jersey-based Goya Foods has opened a new 130,000-square-foot facility at its regional operations campus in Webster.

Boylston construction firm RP Masiello began site work on the building in October 2021. It is the sixth building RP Masiello has built for Goya, according to a Wednesday press release from the construction company.

Goya specializes in Latino food and recipes, with products ranging from canned beans to coconut milk.

“Over the years we have built a great relationship with the Unanue family, who own and operate Goya Foods,” RP Masiello President David Masiello said in the press release. “Through our many projects, we have spent a lot of time at the Goya headquarters in New Jersey, and I’m so impressed with the level of enthusiasm and spirit that everyone in the company has.”

The project provided challenges including a need to remove a significant amount of ledge to create a level pad and, because the building connects to an existing working structure, the company had to build it without disrupting normal operations.

RP Masiello is working on a number of Central Massachusetts projects serving a variety of industries, including 1 million square feet of industrial space in Sutton for Sutton-based UN1F1ED² Global Packaging Group, the renovation of an office building into a life-science-geared facility at 115 Northeast Cutoff in Worcester, and Spectrum Health System’s new headquarters and intake facility in Westborough.
