Franklin firm acquires international thermal packaging company

Cold Chain Technologies of Franklin acquired Exeltainer, an international thermal packaging company, with hubs in Spain and Brazil.

The acquisition gives Cold Chain broader access to global markets and expands its portfolio of products, according to a Tuesday press release from Cold Chain Technologies.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Exeltainer has developed an impressive portfolio of solutions to meet the stringent compliance requirements of its global pharmaceutical clients” Cold Chain CEO Ranjeet Banerjee said in the press release. “We are thrilled to partner with [Exeltainer CEO] Héctor Navarro and the entire Exeltainer team to deliver enhanced value to our customers around the globe.”

Cold Chain Technologies produces and distributes packaging and logistics solutions for the life sciences industry, focusing on packaging for temperature-sensitive cargo.

Cold Chain moved from Holliston into a 237,000 square-foot Franklin manufacturing facility in 2017.
