DetraPel Inc. of Framingham has rebranded its industrial materials arm as Impermea Materials, which specializes in materials coating.
DetraPel makes and specializes in synthesizing and manufacturing PFAS-free protective coating. Company Founder David Zamarin was featured on the investor television show “Shark Tank”.
While DetraPel sells non-toxic water and stain repellent treatments designed to protect belongings from spills and stains, it has an industrial side to provide companies looking to implement the technology through its Impermea Materials division. According to a Wednesday press release, the change comes in conjunction with Impermea Materials working with four paper suppliers to create environmentally friendly packaging no longer using PFAS.
“Since our inception nine years ago, we have been developing PFAS-free, water-based chemistries that outperform their fluorinated counterparts. Our team is now at the forefront of the industrial manufacturing transition currently underway to remove toxic chemicals from the everyday products we come into contact with,” Zamarin said in a press release on Wednesday.
