Ameresco, a Framingham-based clean energy and technology company, has secured four projects for California power plant sites.
Work on the projects will add 379 megawatt-hours to the California grid, according to a Thursday press release from Ameresco. The sites are Battery Energy Storage System projects, which can be charged by renewable energy.
The power plant sites are owned by Chicago firm Middle River Power, an asset of private equity firm Avenue Capital Group, headquartered in New York City. The Ameresco projects are in service of California’s goal to have a renewable energy grid by 2045, according to the press release.
Ameresco announced in June it was selected to partner with a Canadian company for work to bolster Ontario’s power grid.
Work on the California sites is set to begin in summer 2023, with an anticipated completion date in mid- 2024, according to the press release.
