Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing Co. will release a new beer and host a fundraiser for the Framingham after-school and summer program Hoops & Homework on Saturday. The brewery will donate a portion of the sales of the beer to the organization.
Exhibit ‘A’ will donate $2 to Hoops & Homework for each 4-pack of its beer Educator sold at the brewery and in retail stores. The brewery will donate another $1 from each draft pour of the beer sold at the brewery during the release party.
Educator is a New England-sourced doppelbock using all local grains from Valley Malt. Doppelbocks are a traditional German-style beer that shines when the caramel and toffee characteristics of the malt shine through.
Hoops & Homework was started in 2010 and became a nonprofit in 2014. It serves children living in low-income rental housing developments in Framingham. It provides staff and volunteers to supervise children as they complete school work, while promoting reading and math skills. It offers recreational, cultural, and enrichment activities and provides meals every day for those children. The nonprofit provides scholarships for children in Framingham to attend its programs.
“Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing Company has been a wonderful partner the past two years and has directly impacted our organization in such a positive way,” Hoops & Homework Founder Herb Chasan said in a press release. “Exhibit ‘A’ continues to support our mission and help us raise the funds we need to expand our programs, and increase our enrollment. We are grateful to be part of a community of businesses who make a commitment to helping students and educators in our neighborhood.”
The Educator beer release party will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing Co.’s taproom in Framingham.
