The Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to the Framingham History Center to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
The center plans to use the money for town-related exhibits for “The Civil War in Framingham 2011.” It hopes to raise a total of $25,000 for the project, which will highlight local contributions to the war.
The center said Framingham can become a destination during next year’s Civil War sesquicentennial.
The foundation’s $5,000 donation was part of $41,000 awarded to community initiatives recently.
