Months after selling the popular Worcester watering hole Nick’s Bar & Restaurant to a longtime bartender, the former owner sold the building at 124-128 Millbury St., to the Cekani Realty Group of Needham for $900,000.
The sale of the building will not impact the operations of Steel & Wire, which Mara and Frank Inangelo opened in the former Nick’s space after their purchase of the bar in March.
“We will be remaining in there, and it will be business as usual,” Frank Inangelo told WBJ via email on Monday.
The Cekani Realty Group, led by Oltin Cekani, was founded in 2020 and has more than $5 million in assets under management, according to its website. Cekani did not respond to requests for comment.
The deal for Cekani to buy the building closed on Tuesday, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.
Vincent Hemmeter, trustee of Hemmirella Realty Trust, the official seller of the property, also owns Ralph’s Rock Diner and Vincent’s Bar, both in Worcester.
The property was sold to Hemmeter in 2007 for $340,000. The City of Worcester assesses the property at $493,500.
The building, built in 1920, has six apartments in addition to the bar.
