Worcester bar Nick’s Bar & Restaurant is to close and reopen under a new name and new management this spring.
Nick’s is to be renamed to Steel & Wire, according to a Tuesday press release from the new owners. The bar, located on Millbury Street, is to be sold to Mara and Frank Inangelo, the latter a longtime employee of Vincent’s bar in Worcester.
Vincent Hemmeter, the previous owner of Nick's and the owner of Ralph's Rock Diner and Vincent's Bar, sold the business to The Inangelo's.
“I’m really excited to start this next chapter. It’s something I’ve been working towards for a long time,” said Frank Inangelo in a press release. “I appreciate Vincent and his partner Nicole Watson for passing the baton to me. I’ll be bringing what I’ve learned through 22 years of tending the bar here in the city and developing a live music program that people really love. I’ll be taking a lot of that same vibe to Steel & Wire.”
Steel & Wire, named after the former American Steel & Wire Co., is to pay homage to Worcester’s industrial history.
The bar is set to open this spring, with no specific date given.
