Food company merges with a natural ally

United Natural Foods in Killingly and Millbrook Distribution Services of Massachusetts, a privately held subsidiary of Distribution Holdings Inc., announced a definitive merger agreement, set to close within the next 30 days. UNFI Merger Sub Inc., a subsidiary of United Natural Foods Inc., will acquire all outstanding shares of Distribution Holdings Inc. The transaction, which will ease cross-selling for the two complementary organizations, will increase UNF’s share in the specialty foods market. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
