Oligo Factory, a Holliston biomanufacturer, has become compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices, nine months after the company added 13,000 square feet to increase its manufacturing capacity.
“I’m extremely proud of our team who worked tirelessly throughout 2023 to achieve this milestone," Oligo CEO Chris Boggess said in a Wednesday press release. "This accomplishment reflects our unwavering commitment to producing oligonucleotides of the highest quality to meet the growing demand from our valued customers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries."
The company’s product is manufactured oligonucleotides, which are synthetic strands of RNA and DNA. They are supplied to life sciences companies for research with applications in gene therapy and diagnostics.
The GMP compliance is a benchmark for the company. It ensures quality control of the synthetic product, which Oligo Factory produces at scale, filling a gap in the life science industry.
The headquarters’ move in early 2023 scaled up the company’s production by a factor of 10.
