Oligo Factory, a Holliston-based biomanufacturer, opened Thursday a new 13,000 square foot facility to scale-up its production processes. The new facility will serve as Oligo’s new headquarters and will increase manufacturing capabilities for the company by a factor of 12.
The new facility opened after a growth capital investment, according to a Thursday press release from Oligo. The company manufactures synthetic oligonucleotides, which it supplies to life sciences companies for research with applications in gene therapy and diagnostics.
The new facility is based at 56 Boynton Road in Holliston. The company’s previous headquarters was at 70 Bartzak Dr. in Holliston.
“Oligo Factory is uniquely positioned to help existing and new customers develop, launch, and accelerate growth of oligo-based research tools, diagnostics and therapeutics,” Chris Boggess, CEO of Oligo Factory, said in the press release. “This additional capacity along with the speed and efficiency of our synthesis process will enable us to scale with our customer’s needs and market demands.”
The investment in Oligo came from Research Corporation Technologies, based in Tucson, and BroadOak Capital Partners in Bethesda, Maryland.
