A 267,000-square-foot Class A warehouse will be constructed on a plot of land at 90 Huntoon Memorial Highway in Leicester.
Central Gateway will offer 45 docks with three drive-in doors and 299 employee parking spaces with 59 spaces for trailers, according to a listing by Worcester real estate broker Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates, along with global real estate company Newmark, which has an office in Boston.
The site is under construction with completion expected in April. The property was sold in April for $2 million, purchased by an entity registered to Richard High, the president of development at John M. Corcoran & Co., which is headquartered in Braintree.
The project is part of a larger boom in industrial real estate with millions of square feet of warehouse and logistics space being developed throughout Central Massachusetts. Some projects are built to suit, but many, like this one, are built on spec owing to a hot industrial real estate market.
