The four-year-old Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton has received its first ever federal grant, a $6,000 award from the National Endowment from the Humanities.
The Preservation Assistance Grant will help pay for equipment and staff training to care for the museum’s 450-icon collection. It will also allow the museum to bring in conservation experts to help create a plan for the stewardship of the collection.
The museum was founded by Nypro Inc. Chairman Gordon B. Lankton and is the largest collection of its kind in North America.
