Pollo Campero, a fast food chicken restaurant started in Guatemala, with international headquarters in Texas, is eyeing Worcester for franchise expansion, the company announced on Tuesday.
The company hopes to open 10 stores in Massachusetts in the next five years, according to the announcement, with more than 250 new stores planned around the country. So far, 77 stores are already open and/or in development in the United States, according to a press release.
The company, founded in 1971, is seeking prospective franchise owners looking to get into the business. Ideal candidates will have multi-unit operational restaurant experience, as well as the necessary capital to invest in at least three to five Pollo Campero locations. More information about franchising can be found on the company website.
Pollo Campero did not specify how many locations it hopes to open in Worcester or the surrounding area, aside from the 10-store goal for the state as a whole.
