A six-acre parcel in Westborough, including the site of closed garden center The Green Thumb, Inc., was sold to a Newton-based car dealer for $2.5 million, according to the Worcester South District Registry of Deeds.
Located along Route 9, the property was bought by an entity registered to Matt McGovern at the address of McGovern Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram car dealership in Newton.
McGovern was not available for immediate comment.
The site was formerly a 70-year-old garden center founded and owned by Worcester-native Robert McGoldrick, who passed away in 2019, per his obituary. His daughter, Linda, was the registered owner of the property when it was sold.
The business offered mini golf and ice cream on its six-acre property. It is listed as permanently closed on its Facebook page and has not posted since April 2019.
It was listed by the Stubblebine Co. for $4.5 million and sold for nearly half that amount in a deal closed Dec. 28.
