Milford construction contractor Consigli Building Group is the largest employee-owned company based in Central Massachusetts, according to a first-time list produced by the WBJ Research Department for the 2023 Book of Lists.
In the list, where companies with employee stock ownership plans were ranked by number of local employees, Consigli ran away from the competition with 783 employees in Central Massachusetts and 1,600 worldwide, according to the survey of companies conducted by WBJ.
Among Consigli’s high-profile projects is a $69-million renovation of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
In second place was Worcester-based aerospace manufacturer David Clark Co. with 225 local employees.
Rounding out the top five are retailer Landry’s Bicycles in Westborough, and two manufacturers; James Monroe Wire and Cable in Lancaster, and Web Industries in Marlborough.
The remaining companies on the list can be viewed in the 2023 Book of Lists, which features 43 lists ranking companies and people across a variety of industries.
