Employee Health Advocate Recognizes Unum

Unum, the Chattanooga, Tenn.-based employee benefits provider with a major presence in Worcester, has been recognized for a commitment to the health of its employees.
The company earned a 2008 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles Gold Award from the nonprofit National Business Group on Health.
Unum, which has about 650 employees in Worcester, was one of 63 companies recognized by the group for its employee health and wellness programs. The company offers health-conscious food choices in its cafeterias, educates employees about the importance of exercise and provides health assessments to employees.
The National Business Group on Health said Unum "is at the vanguard of a national movement" to promote healthy lifestyles for employees.
