Hopkinton-based data storage giant EMC Corp. has acquired NetWitness, a Virginia network security analysis company, which will become part of EMC’s RSA security division.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but EMC said it will not have a material impact on the company’s fiscal 2011 results.
NetWitness, which was a privately held company, offers a platform for organizations to monitor and analyze activity on their enterprise network to fight insider threats, malware and other security problems.
