The Harvest Cup, a cannabis expo and competition featuring participants from across New England, will be held this weekend at the DCU Center in Worcester.
This year’s event, which marks the seventh year that the event has been hosted in Worcester, will be held from 11am-6pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday.
This year’s competition is open to cannabis companies that are licensed by the state, as well as home growers and medical marijuana caregivers. Competition categories include awards for the best flower, concentrates, edibles, and vape cartridges, among other awards.
While attendees may be able to find CBD and other cannabis-based products for sale from some vendors, state law prohibits licensed cannabis businesses from conducting off-site sales.
At least 132 vendors and non-profits have registered for booths at this year’s event, according to the Harvest Cup’s website.
Cannabis consumption is not allowed in the DCU Center, but past iterations of the event have seen the establishment of a designated cannabis smoking area just outside the venue.
In addition to the expo and competition, two official after-parties are being held by organizers, according to the Harvest Cup’s Instagram page.
Saturday’s party will feature a variety of live musical acts and will be hosted at Electric Haze on Millbury Street. Sunday’s party will be held at the Palladium and is scheduled to feature a musical performance from “According to Jim” actor and cannabis entrepreneur Jim Belushi.
Tickets are available through the DCU Center’s ticket office or at the Harvest Cup’s website.
