Consumer Prices Creep Up In June

The Consumer Price Index increased 0.9 percent in June, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Over the last 12 months, the index has fallen 1.4 percent, driven down by a 25.5 percent decline in the energy index. The energy index decrease has more than offset increases of 2.1 percent in the food index and 1.7 percent in the index for all items excluding food and energy.
