Two former NECCO candy manufacturing buildings in Boston’s Seaport District will be converted into a 21st century workspace and restaurant under a new agreement between Consigli Construction Co., Inc. and GE.
The Milford-based construction firm was selected by GE to renovate the two six-story buildings, which were built in 1907 and total about 95,000 square feet in size. Once the project is finished, the buildings will house a co-working space for manufacturing innovation among entrepreneurs, a career lab for students, office space, and a waterfront bistro. There will also be a terrace with a vegetated green area, and a pedestrian-only walkway for greater access to the waterfront.
