Cogmedix, Inc., a medical contract manufacturer based in West Boylston, broke ground on its 101,400-square-foot facility, which will more than double the size of its West Boylston headquarters.
The facility will be built on roughly 15 acres of industrial land located behind Cogmeix’s current headquarters at 127 Hartwell St., according to a Thursday press release from the company.
Cogmedix, which is a subsidiary of Coghlin Cos., moved from Worcester to West Boylston in 2019. The new $8.7-million facility is projected to create 200 new jobs over the next three to five years.
The project received a five-year, $330,000 tax break from the Town of West Boylston to complete the project.
The groundbreaking took place slightly later than originally anticipated, as Coghlin Cos. President Chris Coghlin said in September construction was slated to begin in December.
Leominster-based construction firm The McCarty Cos. is managing construction of the facility, which is set to be completed by spring 2023.
