Morgan Construction, the Worcester company that is now part of Siemens VAI, has helped Chinese steel maker Wuhan Iron & Steel upgrade its process to make more steel, faster.
The mill will produce 851,000 tons of steel per year, up from 700,000 before the upgrade. The changes will also improve the quality of carbon produced at the site.
The largest change to the facility was the addition of Morgan equipment designed to reduce inventory of spare rolls and guides and improve finished product tolerance and uniformity.
Siemens purchased Morgan early this year.
