Charlton, Sudbury Firms In Licensing Deal

Two Central Massachusetts manufacturers have entered into a licensing agreement that will combine some of their products for use in medicine and national security, according to one of the firms, Incom Inc. of Charlton.

Incom, which makes fiber optic products, said it will use a process – atomic layer deposition – that’s patented by Arradiance Inc., of Sudbury, to help develop multiple applications that include medical scanning, as well as for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The company said the process and products will also be used in what it calls a new area: microchannel plates, or MCP, which aids in night vision.
