Elaine Fluet will retire from her role as president and CEO of Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. in Gardner, and Holly Chaffee, who previously led Worcester’s VNA Care, will take her place.
Fluet has worked at Care Central in Gardner for 37 years, beginning as director of adult day care in 1985. She became COO in 1999 before rising to CEO and president, according to the Wednesday press release from VNA announcing her retirement.
Fluet’s position will be filled by Chaffee, who is coming from a position as vice president and COO of VNA in Albany, N.Y.
For about two years starting in 2018, Chaffee served as president and CEO of VNA Care in Worcester, which has nine clinical offices and three hospice locations in the state, as well as a home health care service. She also had an eight-year career as CEO of Porchlight VNA/Homecare in Lee.
“Holly brings the same values and love of community to the agency that I have had my whole career in Homecare services,” Fluet said in a statement. “She has a vast knowledge of internal operations and clinical programs that promote excellence in clinical practice.”
Care Central VNA & Hospice was formerly known as GNA HealthCare in Gardner until 2020 when it merged with VNA of Southern Worcester County in Webster. Care Central VNA has offices in Gardner, Greenfield, Webster, and Auburn.
