Bose, the Framingham manufacturer of headphones and speakers, has replaced CEO Phil Hess with CFO Jim Scammon as the leader of the company.
Scammon's title will be president and COO, according to a report from CNET, who first reported the leadership change on Monday.
According to the story from CNET, the change was made back in January, when the company also announced it would close all of its North American and European stores.
Representatives for Bose did not immediately return WBJ calls for comment on Tuesday morning.
The news combined with the store closures amplifies the shakeup at the Framingham company. In January, Bose said it plans to close 119 retail stores in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia over the next several months. The company said it will maintain more than 130 stores in China, the United Arab Emirates, India, South Korea, and other markets.
The company was launched in 1964 by former MIT student Amar Bose. Its first store opened in Kittery, Maine in 1993, according to a history on the manufacturer’s website.
Bose has stores at the Burlington Mall and Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.
