Bose introduces new headphones, upgrades

Grant Welker Bose Corp. headquarters in Framingham.

Framingham-based audio and entertainment giant Bose has announced two new additions to its line of headphones: a wireless set of earbuds made for exercising and headphones equipped with Google Assistant.

The soundSport Free Headphones, available in October for $249.95, were engineered to strike a balance between size, performance, power and stability. They were designed for exercise, the company said in a press release Thursday.

Each earbud weighs just .35 ounces and are equipped with a new advanced antenna system and the company’s latest miniature acoustic technology.

In addition to being resistant to water and sweat, a feature on the Bose Connect App displays the last time and place they were used to locate the device quickly.

The QC35II Noise Cancelling headphones are a new iteration of the company’s iconic listening device.

The headphones come with the same controls on the right earcup, but there’s now a new button on the left earcup that allows connection to Google Assistant without having to use a smartphone.

The company said it worked together with Google on the feature, which Bose says is the first integration of Google Assistant in a headphone.
